Treats From Home

September 12th, 2007 · No Comments

A couple of weeks before I left for Norway, I came across a website that I was going to share with all the expats out there in the world called Expat Essentials. But I didn’t have time then, and was reminded again of the site when I was so excited to find an article written by one of the owners of the it. The company is what they do is deliver all kinds of goodies from home (UK or USA) to you wherever you are in the world!

When I came across this site a few weeks ago I was so excited for two reasons #1-To share it with my fellow expats out there and #2- For me! Of course. I know when I found the site I wasn’t even in Norway yet, but I was already excited to know that if I got so desperate for a treat from home…there was an answer!

So it was ironic that while I was reading articles about settling into your new country as an expat, that I came across this article written by one of the owners of the company! Its very interesting to read about how the company began.

Martin Lambert is the person who dreamed up the idea for Expat Essentials and shared it with Tania over dinner one evening. He claimed to have gotten the idea after years of being an expatriate in many remote places in the world and missing his favorites from home like Walkers Crisps, Heinz Baked Beans and Cadburys Chocolate.

And so Expats Essentials was born….

If your looking for a “Taste From Home” as their slogan says, they try to provide the things you might miss the most living in a foreign land, a remote jungle…or a very unusual place like NORWAY! :)

FYI Tania says that sometimes customers complain about the prices of shipping, but assures us that it is done in the most affordable way. So don’t be mad if your shipping costs more that the can of Heinz Baked Beans you want, its just a small price to pay for your treasured familiar treat, right?
