While we were in India, we of course did some amazing shopping. Coming from Norway which is so expensive, it is so nice to be somewhere where the prices are so much lower

While we stayed at the ashram we were required to wear salwar khameez outfits (or people call them punjabi outfits, I don’t know what the right name for them is). We went to a place to get mine that was very good prices, they had all sizes and a great selection. The place is called “The Miss”. If you need these types outfits for women in Bangalore, I would really recommend you check them out. –>
I personally bought seven punjabi outfits there and was extremely happy with them. We had to wear all white outfits at the ashram except for the Shivaratri celebration. For that time women wear red outfits. It was really fun, like playing dress up, in my red outfit. I was all red with all of this gold sparkly design all over it. And all of the outfits come with matching scarfs, and the red one had the most beautiful matching red with gold sparkly design scarf with it. It was so fun to wear! I kept trying to get someone to take a picture of me in it but every picture turned out blurry…of course.

For all of your little souvenirs from India that you would want the store you should go to is called Chandni’s. We bought a ton of stuff there and they also have very good prices. You can go to a lot of different places for these things, but this is the place to go if you want to get fair prices for the same thing. Plus the owner is super sweet
At Chandni’s you will be able to find whatever kind of statue, painting or other traditional Hindu or Indian handicrafts you are looking for. They are a great store.
I know its not much, but I only want to tell you about places I am sure about, and I am sure about these two places!

i went looking for souvenirs in bangalore and i could find only 2 places and both on m.g road. it is central and there is a lot of street shopping where u can find traditional scarves, bangles etc. one the 2 stores is CAUVERY where i picked up some lovely sandalwood carvings and incense sticks. the other is “GANGARAMS” where i picked up many perfect easy to carry handmade notebooks and albums as well as souvenirs such as india magnets. both the stores are very big and have numerous other beautiful gifts to take back home. my friends and family love the gifts. i would recommend these stores to any foreigners as you will definately find many things to buy.
