The Introduction:
This is a post that I have intended on writing for many many months. It is not related to any of my typical subjects, but comes from a different type of inspiration. :)
I (like all other bloggers) constantly am checking my statistics. In my stats, it lists what keywords people are typing into search engines like Google to find my site. One unusual search, but very frequent that I get is the search term “Miss Lithuania”. I always thought that this was funny since I have never posted anything on my blog before about Miss Lithuania, or Miss Anything for that matter. But month after month and week after week, it keeps turning up as a very popular search on my site.
The search for Miss Lithuania:
Wikipedia:
Wikipedia says that Miss Lithuania (aka Mis Lietuva) of 2007 is Jurgita Jurkute. Wikipedia has a list of the previous Miss Lithuania contestants, it seems that they do not have the contest every year. Jurgita was the one to represent Lithuania in the Miss World pageant in 2007.
Santabanta.com:
On the website Santabanta.com, they show all of the Miss World and Miss Universe contestants. Apparently Lithuania has not competed in any Miss Universe competitions (why? who knows). But I did find that Lithuania competed in the Miss Earth competition in 2006 (the environmentally friendly beauty contest…I guess).
Miss Lithuania for the Miss Earth competition in 2006 was Evelina Dedul.
The Conclusion:
There is not much information out there about the infamous Miss Lithuania, but for those who keep searching for it and keep finding my site at least now I have something pretty for you to look at when you get here :)

Hi from another expat! Dig your site, full of great resources and expatica.
I love random search phrases, my favorite for today on my site (well, that’s G rated anyway): “are there flying cochroaches in dc?”
Don’t know, but good luck with that!

@miss write: No idea! I think it is because I wrote a post called “What not to miss in Lithuania”…therefore, Miss Lithuania!

I think that is pretty funny. Checking for keyword searches is not something I am familiar with…you learn something new every day here in the blogosphere. What program do you use to check keyword searches?
I have always wondered how I get some of the traffic I get.

That’s a cute post. At least they now can REALLY see Miss Lithuania here, great idea.
Mine is always frequented by “Andie McDowell”. Maybe I should just give them what they want.

That’s too funny. Looking at which searches can bring people to your blog can be hilarious, and frightening!
