Norwegian Movies

October 14th, 2007 · No Comments

As many of you know, my friend that I am staying with teaches Norwegian to foreigners. And yesterday he had a movie night where he showed a movie that was a Norwegian movie with English subtitles.37_1_2_629c.jpg

We watched a comedy called 37 1/2 and it was about an awkward girl who grew up with some family friends who were the “pretty” and the “powerful” as she called them.

All three girls (and one brother) dreamed when they were little that they were going to marry the crown prince of Norway (who by the way I saw a couple of weeks ago if you want to check it out click here) and then fastfoward to twenty five years later when the prince of Norway is marrying someone else and they are all unhappy with their lives and mad because they did not marry him.

So the main character is a writer for a magazine who has a string of really bad things happen to her leading up to her 40th birthday. And basically she meets and falls in love with a younger guy and thats the happy ending.

My opinion of this Norwegian movie is it was ok. It was supposed to be a comedy but my sense of humor is much different than this humor. In my opinion the humor was basically very dull to me. But it was an experience to see this Norwegian comedy!
