I am always learning new things (especially lately living here in Norway). Well one of those new things has been learning about title companies (do not ask me why!) and other things like title-related services.

What are title companies? And what are title related services, you ask? Well I was asking myself the same thing recently. What is title insurance ? And why the heck would I need something like title insurance? Well, title insurance is when you buy a piece of property or real estate you could possibly be buying property that has a “history”, and what people in the dating world like to call “baggage”. For example if you buy some property and there could be a lien on that property or someone like governmental bodies, contractors, lenders, judgment creditors, the Internal Revenue Service, or various other individuals or corporations could have interest in this property. Well, of course this is not so good!

So since this is a possibility whenever you buy property or real estate, it is important that you get title insurance from a reliable title insurance companies . If you do get title insurance, if there happens to be a claim that you did not know about prior to buying your new property, you will be protected by a title insurance company by being defended in court and they can cover the costs of the settlements in court if it should ever actually come to that kind of situation. Basically you will be more protected from scams and things like that if you do have title insurance!
