So I am moving to Oslo in a couple of weeks. And I know that in moving there it will be the start of a new life for me. I am extremely excited and I don’t doubt that it will be challenging and difficult at times. But since it is a new chapter in my life I am mostly just excited.

See, I am not going on a vacation, taking a leave of absence or even a break. I will be starting a new life and Oslo, Norway will be home. I am relocating overseas to live in a new country and even though I will not be visiting as a tourist, there are some touristy things I still would like to do if I have the chance.

So, what do I want to see while living in Norway? Well, in no particular order…

I want to see Norway’s famous fjords. I know that since I will be living in Oslo, without a car, that this might take some thought and planning (as the fjords of Norway are a few hours away from Oslo – I think….). But isn’t it true that when you think of Norway, you think fjords? I do. Plus, I think it would be a shame to live in Norway and NOT see the fjords. That would be like living in Los Angeles and never going to Disneyland!

Second, I want to see Trondheim. This is where my all time favorite book was written. The amazing book by Alan Paton “Cry The Beloved Country”.

And last but not least, something that I really want to experience personally, is the Northern Lights. I want to witness the aurora Borealis in northern Norway for myself. I have a feeling that it will be amazing.

These are my three touristy goals that I have and hope to be able to experience while living as an expat in Norway.
