This entry is part 1 of 7 in the series All about Lithuania

64px-coat_of_arms_of_lithuaniasvg.pngAs most of you who read my blog regularly know, I was away from Norway for the past week and was visiting the beautiful country of Lithuania. I have so much to tell about the trip that I decided to write it in sections so that its easier for me to write and for you to read. So here it is….

lithuania.gifThe introduction:

Just to start, here are a few things I have learned about Lithuania from my friend (who is a Lithuanian). That every other guy is a basketball star and every other girl is a model. That their specialty is complaining and they love to cook with garlic.

My experience is as follows: I know that they won the bronze medal in European Basketball championships this year and that basketball is one of their big things that they take a lot of pride in. I do not know if every other guy is a basketball start though. I know that I was shocked at how incredibly beautiful ALL of the women were there (and a little pissed….you know, skinny, big boobs, gorgeous blue eyes and dark hair, long legs….grrrrrr just a little jealous). But I don’t know how many are actually models (they all looked like they could be though).

As for their specialty being complaining (I thought that was funny), I know that every person we visited in my friends family claimed to have cancer - but the doctors could not find anything. :) haha. And they do like to cook with garlic, and they are very good at it.

It is a beautiful country and it felt to me to be a combination of being a very romantic place, but also a little haunted. There is so much history there and it was an amazing place to visit. I am going to have more posts coming up where I can share my pictures that I took and some of the sights that I saw.

All in all, I have never met so many friendly, generous and warm people. It is definitely a place you should put on your list of places to visit. I really loved it!

Just have to say how much I love your series on Lithuania! I happen to be 1/4 Lithuanian and I’ve always wanted to visit. I will someday, but for now, this is wonderful to read :)
