So since I’m from America, I guess all these things are a little confusing to me. What? The EU and certain things that are going on with that.
I thought that all members of the EU use the new Euro for money. But that is not true. I don’t know how it is decided on who uses that money or not, but I thought it was all EU members. Well that’s wrong.

Another thing, all EU members are not “schengen”. I had never heard this word before moving to Norway. Schengen is a free travel area in Europe for certain countries so if you are traveling within schengen countries you do not get your passport stamped only when you enter and exit schengen.
So for example, I moved to Norway. Norway is not a member of the EU and does not have the Euro but they are a member of schengen. I am on vacation to Lithuania. Lithuania is a member of the EU but they do not have the Euro and are not a member of schengen. And Portugal is a member of the EU, they do use the Euro and they are a member of schengen.
Are you confused yet? I am!
