I am having the WORST jet-lag right now. I came from India back to California and it is 12 and a half hours difference and it is awful. I am not able to fall asleep until about 7am or 8am. If I try and force myself to stay away I cant help myself and I fall asleep around noon or 1PM then and it seems to put me farther off.
I have been taking tons of over the counter sleeping pills in the evening to try and help me fall asleep sooner and it is not working.
I have never experienced jet-lag like this and it is just torture. I have been back from India for 5 days already and I just feel I am being tortured!
Does anyone out there have any secrets for overcoming jet-lag like this? Please tell me about it in a comment below! Thank you!

Stop taking the sleeping pills - it’s artificial. It’s always worse, coming from that direction, but stay awake as long as you can and then set the alarm at the normal wake up time.
In the mean time; Enjoy the sun today - it won’t last long you know :-)

I’ve heard melatonin can help? Jet Lag is so bad….I can remember summers traveling to Norway it always wrecked me for the first few days. Good luck!

I think John McClain - in Die Hard - took off his shoes and walked around the carpeted floors, making balls with his feet.
I agree with the earlier comment - I drink coffee to help me stay up after waking up at the normal wake-up time.

That’s a real bad effect. I too get it mostly while traveling to India. You should seriously stay away from sleeping pills as they do not solve the problem. A refreshing juice of hot cup of coffee surely makes me feel good. Rest for as long as you can to get things back on track.
