Today I got a letter from the police, and in it was my official residence permit! I cant believe it actually happened! I am so excited :) I am a resident of Norway until 2011! I am even allowed to work. Its so cool. And I really don’t know how it actually happened so fast, but it only took one week (which completely nix my idea of writing a post about how I was being held hostage in Norway until I got my residence permit….guess I wont be writing that post!). Which is really strange, but I wont ask any questions…just say thank you!
It’s Offical!

Congratulations! As a fellow expat (albeit in Italy) I know how special each bureaucratic victory is :)

Hi Kirstie!
I stumbled upon your blog when I did a google search for Oslo Norway. Like yourself, I am an American who is looking to move to Oslo Norway in a month. I am currently living in Ireland with my Irish husband, but he’s been offered a chef job in Olso. Congrats to your new resident status! I was wondering how difficult it would be for me as an American. At least there is hope? Thanks, I look forward to reading more of your blog, because it sounds a lot like what I’ll be going through in a month! :-)
