I’m Finally In Norway!

September 11th, 2007 · No Comments

So now I am officially an American in Oslo, Norway. I’m here, and I got here last Friday. I made it in one piece with all of my luggage. The traveling was very exhausting and the first day I was here I spent most of the day sleeping. It wasn’t so much jet lag as it was exhaustion from the long flights and the five hour layover in Amsterdam that wore me out. But now I rested, and already adjusted to the sleep schedule, so everything is going well.

One of the things I am loving the most right now is the cool fall weather. When I left home it was scorching hot, and now its so cool and crisp and beautiful. On Sunday it rained a little bit, but it was so beautiful. I couldn’t be happier about the weather here in Norway right now.

One thing that I am adjusting to is the walking. Walking everywhere. I’m used to always having a car…so that is different, but not bad at all. Just different.

Before I left I had been listening to some CD’s to help me learn Norwegian, and even though I did learn a little bit I am completely clueless as far as communication is concerned. Thankfully pretty much everyone here speaks English. But I’d still like to learn a little since I’m here.

Anyways, its gorgeous and I’m very happy with everything here. I will continue to keep you updated as to my new life as an expat in Norway!

As soon as I’m able to I will write some posts about what I did as far as getting my stuff here and my plane tickets and how my flight was and everything. And share some advice so maybe your move overseas can be a little easier and you can avoid some of the stresses that I experienced. So….stay tuned!
