Exploring Portugal’s Playgrounds - From Lisbon To the Algarve

June 7th, 2008 · 2 Comments

The stunning southern European nation of Portugal lies on the Atlantic Ocean meaning that whilst it has a fabulous temperate climate with exceptionally long hot summers experienced in the Algarve region and in the interior of the nation, it also has fabulous and dramatic coastline which has been crafted by the sea and the dramatic winter winds. Portugal has a reputation for being a less spectacular nation than say France or Spain - but this is inaccurate - Portugal is merely modest about its attributes and tends to wait for the world to come to Portugal rather than going out and actively shouting about its overall appeal! If you want to visit a truly beautiful European nation with an abundance of history, culture and charm, you should visit Portugal. The nation has thrilling cities to explore such as Faro, Lisbon and Porto. It has miles and miles of untouched coastline, it has the Algarve which is a tourism centre and which is home to some incredible real estate, and it has a rural heart that remains as preserved and perfect today as it was thousands of years ago. There is so much to do, to see, to experience and to enjoy in Portugal that you will find that a week is not long enough, a fortnight is still nowhere near enough and even a month will not allow you to do the country justice. So, if you want to see the very best that this amazing and captivating nation has to offer, why not take a working holiday in Portugal? Whilst the Portuguese language is notoriously hard to learn, if you base yourself in the tourism heart which is the Algarve or you head for one of the main cities you will be able to find work in travel or service related industries for example, and you can gradually learn the language and get to know the friendly people. You will be able to enjoy the Portuguese hospitality, soak up the laid back lifestyle, revel in the quality of life in Portugal and spend as much time as you like learning all about the nation, its history, culture, landscape and beauty.
