Advice on buying your plane ticket

August 20th, 2007 · No Comments

I’m sure there are many of you out there much more educated than me, but I did not know that when you go to another country you must have proof of when and how you are leaving. I was informed that I could not even fly to Oslo without a return ticket!

I was buying my ticket to for when I move to Norway, and wanted to buy a one way ticket since I am not coming back anytime in the foreseeable future (and its cheaper). While searching for the best prices, I spoke with one helpful woman who informed me that since I am a US citizen and not a citizen of Norway, I MUST have a return ticket. Because they would not even let me fly if I didn’t.

Personally, I was surprised. But I guess I understand.  I just wanted to let you all in on that little tidbit. I had been mostly shopping online for a ticket, and I did not read that information anywhere. And I guess I’m lucky that I decided to just call some airlines to see if they had cheaper tickets, and thats when I was informed of this regulation. Very important to know.

But anyways, its an exciting thing to buy the plane ticket. Its all happening so fast! Its so exciting (and a little nerve wracking). Only three weeks till I move to Norway!
