Well, it hardly ever rains here in LA and when it does it is definitely a treat.
Today it was raining and I was working on my computer at Starbucks and there was the most amazing rainbow in the sky. Rainbows in LA are even rarer than the rain.
This rainbow caused all the employees and a the few patrons inside to all run outside with their camera phones. Myself included (with my brand new iphone)!
These are the first pictures I have taken with my iphone so it was fun for me.
It was also a sweet moment where everyone stopped and enjoyed and appreciated the beauty of nature. Its really heartwarming to see people enjoying the small things in life, and this was one of those moments.
The beauty of a rainbow really bightend my day today!
Here are some of the pictures I took of the rainbow with my iphone….

If I traveled to the end of the rainbow as Dame Fortune did intend, Murphy would be there to tell me the pot’s at the other end.
~ Edward Koch

Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life. The evening beam that smiles the clouds away, and tints tomorrow with prophetic ray.
~Lord Byron

I think rainbows are supposed to be good luck, aren’t they? Tell me what you think a rainbow means in a comment below!

Wow! I’m always amazed whenever I see one. You’re so lucky you had a chance to take a photo of it.

Rainbows are always a bright spot in my day. Too bad I won’t see one in the real world until winter is over.

Rainbows! They are in fact good luck, I think. Interestingly, I’ve been reading your blog for some time FROM LA and now I’m headed to live in Norway! When are you headed back?

I am from Canada, from my kitchen window I see double rainbows frequently. (we get a lot of rain) A religious friend told me it was Gods promise to never destroy the world like the first flood..
Do you believe??My parents were born in Norway.I am going there someday.

I love nature and the rainbows are incredible, we get a lot of them here in Northern Utah, almost so much so I take them for granted.

Whether one is religious or not interestingly rainbow is a God’s gift, to promise people that they never will be destroyed globally by flood, like in Noah’s time. If one ever interested to read Genesis chapter 9, particularly verses 8-17. God tells Noah that he makes a covenant that “water will never bring all flesh to ruin”. Verse 13 says: “My rainbow I do give in the cloud and it must serve as a sign of the covenant between me and the earth”
So I think it’s more then for luck.
I though it was interesting. Enjoy the rainbow!

The weather is the same here in Turkey. Hardly ever rains in the summer. Actually hardly even a cloud in the sky from May until August. But when it rains- it is like somebody throws buckets in your face. One time, I watched children and teenage girls dancing on a flat rooftop in the rain. It must have been refreshing.

About an hour after I wrote to you, I went out to the balcony and there was half a rainbow in the sky. I suppose you must have the missing part.

I would never have thought that rainbows would be that rare in LA. Well I suppose this should be tempered by the fact that they are very frequent where I am from.

I live in a country where it rains a lot so I get to see rainbows a little more often than you do! But they don’t get less amazing for that! I think they are kind of magical and there are lots of interesting tales and sayings abot them, like that there’s a treasure at the end of them…
